We offer a wide variety of brochures, pamphlets, tourist maps, and other printed materials providing general information on Japan for personal and educational use. As our supplies are limited we may not be able to fulfill all requests.

To request free materials or for any Japan-related inquiries, email us here. Please include the following information: full name, zip code, affiliation (school/company), and, if requesting printed materials, your full address.

If you live outside the D.C. Metro area (VA, MD, DC), please refer to your nearest Consulate General of Japan.

For all visa and consular inquiries, please refer to the Embassy's visa page, or contact them at 202-238-6800.

Free Publications

Niponika

Niponica is published quarterly and introduces modern Japan through insightful articles and stunning photographs. It covers a wide range of topics in Japanese culture, travel, history, art, nature and daily life, and is a great resource for teachers looking to introduce Japan to students.

(Please note that, unfortunately, we are unable to send Niponica to anyone outside Washington D.C., Virginia, or Maryland)

While Niponica is the only publication you can receive by mail, we do have several others here at the JICC that you can come pick up: Chopsticks, the Capital newspaper, and more.
