Opening Ceremony and Reception
for the Japanese Giant Salamander Breeding Center

On June 22th, Ambassador Ichiro Fujisaki participated in the opening ceremony and reception for Japanese Giant Salamander Breeding

Center at Smithsonian National Zoological Park.  During the ceremony, one of the five Japanese Giant Salamanders was named “Hiro” (after their original place in Japan, Hiroshima Prefecture), by the majority voting by the children at the ceremony.
