The Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue and the Japan-U.S.-Australia Security Dialogue, both at the level of senior officials, will be held in Tokyo on October 23 (Sun) and 24 (Mon), respectively.
The Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Tsuneo Nishida, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and other officials, and on the U.S. side by Mr. Nicholas Burns, Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, and other officials. There will be a discussion on matters of mutual concern and interest between Japan and the U.S.
The Japan-U.S.-Australia Security Dialogue will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Nishida and others, on the U.S. side by Mr. Burns and others, and on the Australian side by Mr. Michael L'Estrange, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and other officials. There will be a discussion on matters of common concern of Japan , the U.S. and Australia.
