1. Having received a report on December 8th from the Food Safety Commission concluding that that there is very little difference in the risk of Japanese beef and beef to be imported from the U.S. and Canada under their Beef Export Programs for Japan, the Government of Japan decided to resume import of beef from the U.S. and Canada on December 12th. The resumption is effective from the same day.
2. The U.S. has reopened its border to Japanese beef on December 12th, and Canada has done the same on December 9th.
