The Signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Climate Change, Renewable Energy, Trade and Investment, Vehicles, High Speed Rail and Water Between the Government of Japan and the State of California, United States of America
- On Friday, September 5, 2014 in San Francisco, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. and Ambassador Kenichi Sasae signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on behalf of the State of California, United States of America and the Government of Japan, respectively.
- Specific areas of cooperation that are outlined in the MOC include: climate change, renewable energy, energy storage, trade and investment, vehicles (particularly zero emission vehicles), high speed rail, and water conservation and management.
- Based on the MOC, Japan and California are to strengthen and coordinate their efforts on areas mentioned above.
