Animezing Series

Friday, February 25th - 6:30pm
JICC Auditorium

This month the JICC's Animezing Series returns with a thrilling adventure, doling out a healthy dose of sweetness for chocolate and anime lovers alike!

Based on the British children's novel Bootleg by Alex Shearer, Chocolate Underground tells the story of two sweet-toothed boys trapped in a land where goodies like chocolate have been banned. Forced to sit idly by as their much-preferred pastry shop falls victim to the oppression of the Good for You Party, their frowns are turned upside down when they stumble upon a secret stash of sugar and cocoa in an abandoned mine. Soon they're running a bootleg chocolate factory underground, smuggling hope to chocoholics throughout the country as they ignite the first sparks of revolution.

Japanese with English subtitles | 87 min | 2009 | Directed by Takayuki Hamana | Some scenes may not be suitable for younger viewers.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and granted on a first come, first served basis. Open seats will be given to guests on standby when the program begins.
