Activities to engage in service that requires specific ways of thought or sensitivity based on experience with foreign culture, such as interpreting, translation, copywriting, fashion design, interior design, sales, overseas business, information processing, international finance, design, or public relations and advertising based on a contract with a public or private organization in Japan.

APPLICATION FILED WITH CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY

  1. Applicant's valid passport, properly signed by bearer
  2. VISA APPLICATION FORM TO ENTER JAPAN (available here), completely filled out and signed by the applicant
  3. One photograph (2"x 2") attached to application form
  4. Original "Certificate of Eligibility" from the Ministry of Justice in Japan and one photocopy (For instructions for obtaining the Certificate of Eligibility, have your Sponsor in Japan refer to www.immi-moj.go.jp.)

 

APPLICATION FILED WITHOUT CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY

  1. Applicant's valid passport, properly signed by bearer
  2. VISA APPLICATION FORM TO ENTER JAPAN (available here), completely filled out and signed by the applicant
  3. One photograph(2" x 2") attached to application form
  4. Materials on the sponsoring organization: copies of the corporate registration (Tokibo Tohon, issued within last 3 months) and a profit-and-loss statement (Son-eki Keisan-sho) of the business office in Japan (if it is a newly opened business, then a business plan for the next year), and documents describing business activities (e.g. an annual report)
  5. Documents showing the applicant's academic and professional background: applicant's CV and (a) college/graduate diploma certifying that the applicant has majored in relevant fields, (b) employment verification letter or other documents certifying experience in the relevant field for 10 years or more, or (c) other documents indicating the applicant's qualification in the field.
  6. A copy of a contract and/or other documents certifying the activity, its duration, the position, and the remuneration of the person concerned
  7. One clear photocopy of all the documents you are submitting

 

The Embassy of Japan reserves the right to request additional documents if deemed necessary.

 

The Embassy of Japan will not make copies, if you need original documents, please bring the original and one copy.

 

Please allow at least four business days to have your application reviewed. (Cases without the Certificate of Eligibility may take a few months.)
