EuroAsia Shorts 2013 Film Festival

Using the theme The Future, the 8th annual EuroAsia Shorts will feature pairings of short films from Asian and European countries as well as the United States, comparing differences and similarities between the cultures. Each evening's screenings will be followed by discussion of the films and the topics with several panelists.

The JICC will hold a screening on June 12th at 6:30pm featuring short films from Japan and Italy.

The films screened at the JICC will be:

  • PLUG, THe NeW WORLD (Japan)
  • Rain Town (Japan)
  • Muybridge's Strings (Japan)
  • Dannato Rock (A Rock Story or Lost Rock) (Italy)
  • ​Stop - Let's Change the Future (Italy)

At 6:30 on June 14th the Embassy of Italy (3000 Whitehaven St., NW) will screen the following films:

  • Advancing Age (USA)
  • Paper Fox (China)
  • Temblor (Spain)
  • The Risk Not Taken (Germany)
  • ​Atronic (France)
  • ​When I Was Young (Japan)
  • ​Breath of Fresh Air (Ora d’Aria) (Italy)
  • ​Big Daddy (Korea)
  • The Man at the Counter (USA)

On June 15th the Embassy of Italy will hold an open-air screening with cash bar for the Best of EuroAsia Shorts 2013. PLUG, THe NeW WORLD from Japan will be shown, among others.

Photo & Video Policy

The Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by JICC, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. JICC may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by JICC including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, newspapers, magazines, television, social media, websites, etc. To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent or legal guardian. A person attending a JICC event who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer/videographer, and/or the event organizers.
