Our next J-Film is the police dramedy OFFBEAT COPS.

Naruse (ABE Hiroshi) is a police detective with over 30 years of experience. Known for mouthing off to his superiors and roughing up suspects, Naruse is a cop who plays by his own rules. However, he winds up in trouble while investigating a string of robberies and is assigned to a new role by his commander: drummer in the police department’s official band.

Frustrated and reluctant, Naruse must learn to perform with his new co-workers while reconnecting with an instrument he hasn’t touched since playing the taiko drums as a boy. Watch as this detective learns about himself and others in this heartwarming drama. For Naruse to succeed in this new position and maybe still catch those criminals, he can’t miss a beat!
