The Blue Skies at Your Feet | 君が落とした青空

Romance

Presented by JICC, Embassy of Japan and Japan Commerce Association of Washington, D.C., Inc.

Our next J-Film is The Blue Skies at Your Feet , which stars Japanese Academy Award nominee FUKUMOTO Riko, as well as MATSUDA Genta of J-pop band Travis Japan, who will perform at the 2023 National Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony in Washington, D.C. This film takes the novel premise of the time loop film, where one character lives the same day again and again and puts a romantic spin on it.

November 1st is not a great day for Miyu (FUKUMOTO Riko); she has an English test that she didn’t study for, her mom made curry for breakfast instead of her usual favorites, and her hair is just not sitting right. Recently, she has been worried about her relationship with her soccer player boyfriend Shuya (MATSUDA Genta). He has been distant, spending a lot of time with their classmate, and cancelled their usual monthly movie date. That night, under stormy skies, the couple meets up to discuss the future of their relationship when tragically Shuya is hit by a car!

Suddenly, Miyu finds herself back in bed…. on November 1st. The same English test, the same curry, and her hair still will NOT sit right. Nobody else notices or understands it... but she is stuck in the worst day of her life! Can Miyu change her fate? Or is this day destined to repeat itself forever?

Miyu gets caught in a time loop, but we hope you get caught up in enjoying this unique sci-fi romance!

Starring FUKUMOTO Riko and MATSUDA Genta
