Reception in Honor of Tokyo Hosting the 2020 Olympic Games

On December 19, 2013, Ambassador Sasae and Mrs. Sasae hosted a reception to celebrate Tokyo’s hosting of the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
Shortly before the reception started Ambassador Sasae gave a brief interview with NBC concerning his thoughts on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The reception started with remarks by co-organizer and Editor-in-Chief of Hollywood on the Potomac Janet Donovan. The reception also included remarks from former Olympic athlete Tom McMillen, remarks by former Olympic Athlete Dominique Dawes, remarks by Virginia Govenor-elect Terry McAuliffe, and remarks and a toast by Ambassador Sasae. The evening concluded with a video presentation about Tokyo by Hollywood on the Potomac.
In addition to the honor speakers, executive members of NBC (the official broadcast network of the Olympic Games), and many other distinguished guests also attended.
