This fall, we continue our Season of Monsters series with A Letter to Momo, a touching animated film starring Yokai, supernatural monsters of Japanese folklore.
After her father dies, 11-year-old Miyaura Momo moves with her mother to a small island on the Seto Island Sea. There she encounters three yokai, who have both appetites for mischief and generous hearts. Although others cannot see the creatures, they begin to help her with the loss of her father and this transition in her life.
Join us on September 10th for this sincere and playful film, and while you’re here you can see even more Yokai at our current exhibition Yokai Parade.
