This fall, we kick off our Season of Monsters series with the film that gave birth to decades of thrilling, thoughtful and timely movies, Godzilla (1954).️

After a freighter goes missing off the coast of a remote island, rumors of a monster called “Godzilla” start to spread across Japan. Scientists soon get wrapped up in investigations and encounters with this mysterious monster that, before long, ends up in downtown Tokyo. In addition to launching an iconic film franchise, the film also serves as a rich exploration of contemporary social issues.

Join us on August 27th for the original Godzilla AND come to our August 25th lecture Why the World Loves Godzilla with Dr. William M. Tsutsui to further enhance your enjoyment of the film!
