2018 Autumn Conferment of Decoration

On November 3, 2018 (Japan Time), the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2018 Autumn Imperial Decorations. Former President of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC is among this year’s foreign recipients and, in recognition of his contributions towards strengthening the relationship and friendship between Japan and the United States of America, he will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette.

Green served as the Former President of the Japan-America Society of Washington DC and during his tenure made significant contributions to promoting friendship between Japan and the United States of America and further deepening the understanding of Japan in the United States. In addition, throughout his professional career, as Former Representative of the Ford Foundation, Japan Office, and as Former Senior Representative of Hitachi Corporate Office, Washington DC, he has made outstanding contributions towards promoting closer relations between Japan and the United States at various levels such as business, grassroots exchange and intellectual exchange.
