2024 Autumn Conferment of Decoration - The Honorable Larry D. Bucshon

On November 3, the Government of Japan announced the 2024 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals, and their intention to honor Representative Larry D. Bucshon, former co-chair of the Congressional Study Group on Japan. In recognition of his contributions towards strengthening bilateral relations and promoting inter-parliamentary exchanges between Japan and the United States, he will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.

In this capacity, Representative Bucshon has made significant contributions by taking the initiative to strengthen U.S.-Japan bilateral relations. Representative Bucshon’s initiatives have played a significant role in conducting U.S.-Japan parliamentary exchanges, including his frequent visits to Japan to meet Japanese cabinet ministers and government officials, as well as numerous meetings with members of the Japanese Diet during their visits to the United States.
