2025 Autumn Conferment of Decoration
Former Senior Director at the National Security Council and Special Assistant to the President for East Asia Dennis Craig Wilder On November 3, 2025 (Japan Time), the Government of Japan announced the 2025 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals, with Dennis Craig Wilder, Former Senior Director at the National Security Council and Special Assistant to the President for East Asia, being one of the recipients. In recognition of his contributions towards promoting security cooperation between Japan and the United States, he will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.
SUMMARY OF CONTRIBUTIONS
The Honorable Dennis Craig Wilder served under the administration of President George W. Bush as Senior Director for East Asian Affairs and Special Assistant to the President at the National Security Council (NSC), overseeing the overall policy toward East Asia. During the Bush administration, Japan–U.S. relations deepened further through his dedicated efforts, building on the foundation of trust between the two leaders. In responding to the evolving situation in East Asia, he placed great importance on coordination with Japan, making significant contributions to strengthening security cooperation and mutual trust. # # #
